They handle steam, air, and condesate by pressure and temperature to open and close the diaphragm or bellows. This thermostatic element expands when steam is present to close the trap, and contracts when the cooler air or condensate is present to open the trap which allows the condensate to drain. The Spirax Sarco thermostatic trap has cast iron body available in angle or straight pattern.
