Spence Pressure Pilot Actuator “D” 5-50lb

Spence “D” pressure pilot 5-50lb., used in combination with “E” series main valves. Spence pressure pilots open and close the main valve by sensing steam flow through them. The pilot valves are controlled by a pressure spring that comes in four pressure ranges: 3 to 20lbs., 5 to 50lbs., 10 to 100lbs and 20 to 150lbs. These pressures are adjustable within their ranges by a adjustment nut on top of the pilot. The pilot has a downstream sensing line which tells the valve to put more pressure on the main valves diaphragm to open and allow more steam to pass, as the demand is met, to then decrease the pressure, which relieves the pressure on the main valve diaphragm causing it to thottle to the close position.
