Illinois float & thermostatic model 91MG 1-1/2″pipe 50lb maximum operating pressure, capacity 3,300 pounds per hour, SHEMA. Illinois float and thermostatic traps are recommended for: modulating pressures where widlely varying loads are present, and pressures vary from maximum to vacuum. They are a good choice for their ability to vent air at very low pressures, handle start up air loads, and operate against back pressure. The float & thermostatic trap is not a good choice for : resistance to hydraulic shock, damage from freezing, and ability to handle dirt. The “G” Series series cast iron trap has a “Inline” pattern similar to bucket traps, in fact the float is more of bucket than a float. The top of the float is open and it rides up and down on a discharge tube. As condensate enters the trap it overflows into the float causing it to drop thus opening the seat which is fasten to the float allowing the condensate to discharge. As the steam pressure pushes the condensate out of the trap the float then empties and the float rises and closes the seat. The “G” series has a maximum operating pressure of 50 psi and comes standard with a stainless steel valve and seat, and seamless copper float. The “G” Series are continuous drainage and are designed for low,and medium pressure steam mains. The 1-1/2″91MG has straight across inlet to outlet of 7-5/8″, a height of 11-3/4″ and a weight of 39lbs.
