Mepco (D&B) F&T Steam Trap, Model 30-8A

Mepco float & thermostatic model 30-8A 2″pipe 15lb maximum operating pressure, capacity 15,500 pounds per hour. Mepco float and thermostatic traps are recommended for: modulating pressures where widlely varying loads are present, and pressures vary from maximum to vacuum. They are a good choice for their ability to vent air at very low pressures, handle start up air loads, and operate against back pressure. The float & thermostatic trap is not a good choice for : resistance to hydraulic shock, damage from freezing, and ability to handle dirt. The Mepco 30 series Float & thermostatic trap allows steam to enter from top end of the cover on the trap, and the condensate to discharge from the bottom end of the cover on the trap. Looking at the cover there is an offset to the inlet and outlet piping caused by the external thermostatic housing on this model. The 30 Series cast iron trap has a maximum operating pressure of 60 psi and comes standard with a stainless steel internal parts. The 30 Series are continuous drainage and are designed for low, and medium pressure steam mains. The 2″ 30-8A, same end inlet to outlet center-to-center dimension of 5-3/8″, with an offset of 1-1/2″ a height of 11″, a width of 7-7/8″, a depth of 15-7/8″, and a weight of 41lbs.
