Spence Pressure Pilot Actuator “D2” 100-300lb

Spence “D2” pressure pilot 100-300lb., used in combination with “E” series main valves. Spence pressure pilots open and close the main valve by sensing steam flow through them. The pilot valves are controlled by a pressure spring that comes 100-300lb pressure range. The pressure is adjustable within this range by a adjustment nut on top of the pilot. The pilot has a downstream sensing line which tells the valve to put more pressure on the main valves diaphragm to open and allow more steam to pass, as the demand is met, to then decrease the pressure, which relieves the pressure on the main valve diaphragm causing it to thottle to the close position.
