Mepco (formerly Dunham-Bush) series CRVD condensate pump. Two pumps mounted to tank: 1-1/4″ discharge, 1/2 hp 208-230/460V, 3450 rpm pump & motor, rated to 15,000 EDR, at 20 psi.22-1/2 gpm. This unit has a 24 gallon steel receiver with 4″ inlet. Mepco condensate pump units are designed to collect return condensate from the steam system and return it to the boiler in most cases via a boiler feed pump unit. As condensate flows by gravity or from other pumping units to this receiver tank, the receiver fills with water. The float switch assembly then rises and signals the motor on the pump to start and begin pumping the condensate until the float drops with the lower water level and breaks the contact on the switch to shut the pump off. Mepco condensate pumps are made in simplex (one pump) or duplex (two pumps). Duplex units are supplied with a mechanical alternator in place of the simplex float switch. The mechanical alternator will alternate from one pump to the other pump during cycles. This means longer life to the unit, plus it provides automatic back-up for the first pump in case of failure or it cannot handle the return load. Mepcos receivers are steel, the pumps are bronze fitted and run at 3450 RPM.
